Unglasses'd and Dirty

I just woke up about an hour ago feeling especially gross. I hate having eczema because from the moment I wake up to right after I get out of the shower I feel slightly annoyed by my skin. Sometimes when it flares up I feel like throwing myself into traffic, but other days it's like when the sun hits your eyes in the most annoying fashion, but not enough to blind you and you're in a position where you can't really move your head. EczemaL the asshole of the skin conditions. I'm glad I picked up 3 bars of this:

It really is the wonder soap. You might be thinking, "Why in the everliving fuck would I put La Brea/roofing gunk on my skin?" You should be thinking, "WHY in the everliving fuck would I NOT put La Brea/roofing gunk on my skin?" It pretty much rids of every skin condition you could think of (I swear it's not New Age hokum): Eczema, Acne, Dandruff, Ugly, etc. It really worked wonders. It just sucks having to go all the way to Whole Foods on 2nd just to get my fix.

I didn't realize how Shamwow I just fucking sounded hocking soap to the internet masses, but whatever it's good soap. Now on to another topic.

Today, John, Tim, and I are heading to the Galaxy theatre in Los Cerritos Shopping Center to view the remake/reboot of Friday the 13th. What the filmmakers pretty much  did was combine the first four Jason flicks and rebooted it with the first film as the setting. Some of you might not know (including my fat self) that by the second Friday the 13th flick Jason's origin was retconned completely changing the storyline altogether. I'd go more into it, but some of you might want to spend a nice leisurely evening watching said first four Jason flicks.

After our theatrical excursion we'll head back to my pad to wax poetically/analytically about the joys of childhood television programming. Yes, hopefully we'll fit in some Family Matters, or maybe...Snorks? Hopefully you'll tune in to at least catch the unwarranted anecdotes I tend to color our conversations with.

Terence out.

Killer Catch-Up

It's the third quarter and  LA is leading by 2 points against the Cavs 75-73 with 'Bron at the line. My dad said Cleveland hasn't lost at home yet, but we'll see. Hopefully this supposed virus that rocked its way into Mordor (Kobe) is only a 24 hour deal. Purple and Gold gotta take back the 'ship.

Anyway, organized athletics aside, there's a little more catching up that needs to be done this weekend. Two weeks deep into the semester and I've been taking notes and an old poetry class notebook from like 6 semesters ago...and I mean ALL my notes. I finally got a hold of some new note-wares, and in the meantime I'll probably transcribe my scribbleshits of handwriting onto a .doc file. I'm not risking my semester due to illegibility.

My gout is getting better (aka I'm still eating like shit, but my foot doesn't feel like 300 micro-warriors throwing acid-tipped arrows through my tender fatty fit foot anymore. Heck, it's kept its pain at bay while I traverse the Aztec ruins that are CSULB's locales. Since procrastination WILL be setting in soon, you might be seeing a second post by all you's kiddie's suppertime.

Terence Speaks....As Well?

If any of you have succumbed to the annoyingly and frequently posted links to my podcast, then you can X this post from today's existence. Otherwise, feel free to check out:

8 BITS OF FURY

Yeah..I spaced it out and stuff so you're pretty much forced to click it. Heck, I know most of you probably have nothing to do on a Friday evening (other than partying, watching sports, going on dates, getting coffee with friends, studying, other useful time-worthy things), so go ahead, enjoy a couple minutes (or maybe an hour) of my double-chinned face blabbing away at the facts (and faults) of life!

Organized Learnin' on a Half-Dream Supreme

So I successfuly completed my 1stweek of  2nd semester at Cal State Long Beach. Indeed, John was correct-I would get used to the walking. Despite my many attempts to get a certain number of goals completed before the beginning of the semester, I'm glad I have a full schedule to keep my unemployed, fat and lazy brown ass from keeling over in utter boredom (or gout pain..yeah..I have gout and because of my elite internet detective skills I figured out the culprit of my latest flare-up was none other than 8th Continent Soy Milk).

As a 22-year-old Journalism major (film minor) it really grinded my collegiate gears when I couldn't get into Media Ethics. I thought, hey, since the waiting list was purged, maybe I can successfully add in-class. Well I couldn't, and in front of a bunch of classmates I already knew I was told I could bolt for the door. I did and successfully saved enough face to take another class unscathed: Music and Film. I have three other Bosco alumni in this class, and let's hope, for the best of me that I don't destroy anyones lives from chaos....lol. Here's to completing Capstones....I think.

Alright...I lied...upon heading for the door after the Media Ethics fiasco, my rotund physique couldn't manuever around the tightly packed students and I mumbled and fumbled like a Filipino Woody Allen. I swear, I kept asking if it was possible to move a bolted-down podium in an almost half-sweaty attempt to Pac-man my way outta there. All hyphens aside, I would have to say this week was too bad.

On Friday, John and I finally had a taste of local Americana when we stopped in for lunch at the REAL M &M Soul Food on Carson St. inside the Cal Bowl strip mall. We each had the two-piece fried chicken with red bean and rice meal which came with 2 cornbread muffins each. Honestly, if a pre-pubescent ANGEL went to Dashboard Confessional shown after breaking-up with her winged partner and then produced enough tears to boil into a feast fit for two grown men...I'm sure it would have been the exact materialization of said 2-piece chicken meal. The chicken was properly deep fried to perfection without the use of overbreading as a crutch, the red beans (which probably weren't to kind to my gout) and rice were moist, creamy, and drenched in southern comfort. I've had cornbread before, but I was wondering how M&M managed to fit rainbows and stars into the muffins.

Seriously. Good stuff.

Anyway, as my non-football watching ass waits for the Super Bowl (hey...I watch THIS event at least) I might venture with my (now-napping) father to the local Fresh & Easy to obtain some cherry juicy as to procure the future of my uric acid levels. Long live good walking health. Peace.
